
I recently has the pleasure of meeting Millie Grenough and learned of her book Oasis in the Overwhelm. I was drawn in by the title (how could I not be!) and went in search of a copy, which was a very easy read. Millie teaches four simple stress relief strategies that can be learned in less than an hour and that each take 60 seconds to perform. These strategies are designed to impact our physical, spiritual, emotional and intellectual well-being. While at first the strategies might seem rather simplistic, Millie explains that they are actually based in the latest scientific research in neuroplasticity. We are shown that these have been learned and effectively used by a wide range of individuals, from fifth grade students to stay-at-home moms to CEOs, to live a healthier, happier and more balanced life. You can be sure that I will be practicing these techniques over the next few weeks as I search for my OASIS in the Overwhelm.
